High-End Luxury Bathroom Renovation In North Westlake Residence
Master Bath Remodel Project in N. Westlake – Austin, TX
Our clients really had some great ideas for their master bath remodel and we were excited to bring their design ideas to reality. We envisioned a spacious area with a spa-like bath feel and worked together to bring their vision to life.
Full Demolition
We started with a full bath demolition to allow for the component re-locations and new bath design layout in this beautiful spa bath design. The shower design is a curb-less entry into a large shower area this was done by lowering the concrete height at the shower floor area and installing a concrete curb to support the arched glass block wall.
Starphire Glass Panel
We installed a free-standing 10’x 3/8” Starphire glass panel that was set into the porcelain floor tiles and anchored with hidden hardware at the ceiling above. The Starphire glass panel has a low iron content allowing for a much clearer glass panel. For an accent on the glass, the clients went with a partial frosted glass film which can be changed out whenever you are looking for an accent change to the bath. There are many different styles and designs on the market which can be installed in many creative patterns.
Shower Fixtures & Functional Wall Niches
The interior of the shower area was installed with a Hansgrohe Thermostatic shower fixture complete with body sprays and a matching Raindance handheld wand. We installed a large recessed wall niche with towel bars for easy access when exiting the shower area along with small wall niches for toiletries and lighted deco niches’s on the exterior of the tiled wall.
Wall & Floor Tiles
The large wall tiles 15”x 30” in the bath and leading into the shower area were the ‘Plane series’ in silver, supplied by StonePeak Ceramics Inc. The complementing shower floor tile used the texture and color of the Dusty Grey Pebbles, sku #656501 and was sourced locally from The Tile Shop Inc. in Austin, TX.
We used multi-colored and textured large porcelain floor tiles, ‘Dignitary’ 24”x 48” sourced from DalTile Inc. on the main bath floor area which gives the bath floor a large open look with limited grout lines.
Custom Built Vanity Cabinet With Soft-Close Hardware & Doors
In the main bath area the clients chose to go with a custom built Walnut vanity cabinet with book-matched wood grain, soft-close drawer hardware, and soft close cabinet doors. We installed a motion-activated toe-kick night lighting feature which activates at night when you enter the bath. Kohler electrical outlets were installed inside the cabinets for a seamless look at the backsplash areas.
Apron Sink Washbasins
The vanity design was completed using matching Duravit Vero washbasins installed in an apron sink design accenting the White Zeus, Silestone countertops, and Hansgrohe, Metris series faucets.
Freestanding Tub & Tub Filler
The freestanding MTI, Lydia 2 air-tub really made the bath come together with the Graff G-1752 floor mounted tub filler and handheld wand. The bathtub filler valve was installed below the concrete foundation height along with the water supply lines, drain assembly and air supply line for all of the air-tub requirements. The blower motor was installed under the removable corner countertop design for any future servicing.
Locally Sourced Glass Blocks
The clients located the shower glass blocks that they really liked that incorporated the same clear glass look as the Starphire glass panel. The arched glass block shower wall and the bath window were both custom built using the matching obscure glass blocks.
Pendant and Recessed Lighting
The vanity area was highlighted with Tech Lighting Inc., Berrego 10”x 3” pendant lights and 6” recessed lighting fills the entire bath area.
Light Switches, Dimmers & Timers
The light switches, dimmers, and timers were Adorne by Legrand, in the magnesium color selection and went perfectly with the colors used in this beautiful spa bath setting.
Finishing Touches
Everyone was excited when things were finishing up in anticipation of the air-tub and shower fixture operations. With the pocket door aligned and an awesome ceiling fan installed, the glass niche shelving in place and all the components working well we were proud to have completed the vision that the Owners wanted in this fabulous master bath renovation.
